Candidate will develop mobile applications by working tasks and deliverable while providing technical input about implementation.
Duties and Responsibilities
1. Application development to include assessing vendors, keeping informed of industry standards and changes, and making technical recommendations.
2. Web technology development to include music and video services, and content enhancements. Partnering with Device Marketing and Product line Marketing. Working with vendors and network operations.
3. Web portal development to include working with vendors to enhance customer experience and integrate with VZW services. Integrate with Network. Work with Device Marketing, Product line Marketing, and ASP Operations.
Qualifications
• Minimum 4+ years wireless telecommunications industry experience with new service development and product development or equivalent
• Knowledge of mobile devices, mobile operating systems, wireless applications, etc.
• Experience with web technologies (HTML, XML, CSS, Javascript, Ajax), web servers (CGI, Apache, Microsoft IIS)
• Detail knowledge of client/server and/or distributed computing architecture, router-based networks utilizing TCP/IP or OSI protocols (TCP, SSL, HTTP, LDAP, SOAP).
• Strong oral and written communication skills
• Strong technical (e.g., software systems design) and analytical skills
• Working knowledge of Relational Databases and Operating Systems
• Ability to work independently in an unstructured environment
• Up to 25% travel required

(2)Senior Mobile Application Developer
Role Summary:
The Senior Mobile Application Developer is responsible for building and maintaining iOS applications produced by NBC Sports Digital. The Senior Mobile Application Developer will be the technical expert for iOS development for NBC Sports Digital, working closely with the Mobile Product Manager and other senior leaders to create cutting edge sports-focused mobile applications. The Senior Mobile Application Developer reports to the Manager, Technology and will be responsible for mentoring and supp.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Act as lead developer for all iOS application projects at NBC Sports Digital
- Oversee iOS application architecture and create best practices for iOS development
- Work with third-party vendors and other internal resources to complete projects
- Provide technical reviews for potential new projects, including development effort estimates
- Develop applications to agreed upon specifications within the required timeframe and budget
- Troubleshoot issues, create solutions in a timely manner
- Demonstrate deep understanding of Cocoa, the iPhone SDK, UI Design, and iPhone/iPad usability patterns
- Maintain and enhance existing iOS applications currently supported by NBC Sports Digital
Basic Qualifications:
- 5+ years experience developing software, preferrably for a large commercial entity
- 3+ years experience developing Mac applications using Cocoa/Objective-C
- 2+ years experience building iOS applications using the UIKit Framework
- 1+ years experience leading a team of developers through large scale software projects
- Bachelors Degree in Computer Science
